Hexicopter Aerial video of whale skull extraction

Kyle Matthew put together this great video of the whale skull extraction. It was filmed by him and Paige Fischer using a DJI S800 hexicopter and Lumix GH3 camera.

Thanks so much to all the volunteers who made this possible!

This video had me on the edge of my seat. I was struck how meticulously the skull was treated by all team from CCMM. I was in awe watching the view of what was happening from the air. Most of all, I was mesmerized how all these millions of years have passed and perhaps this whale had met it’s demise for numerous reasons. Yet, we have the means to free it from it’s encasement and transport it for further testing to find out all kinds of information. Paleontology has got to be so rewarding. Thank you for all you do.
